WrestleMania 40 was shaping up to be the biggest and best WrestleMania of all time until a week back. Then the injuries started and the allegations came forward. All of this would have been okay because Seth Rollins would have recovered from his injury and he would make it to WrestleMania 40. However at the Royal Rumble something happened that completely derailed the plans WWE had for WrestleMania 40. CM Punk got injured and he suffered a torn triceps injury at the Royal Rumble at the hands of Drew McIntyre.

CM Punk is out of WrestleMania 40
This is the news that no one in WWE or no one in the WWE universe was hoping for. Ever since CM Punk has come back in November it has always been about main eventing WrestleMania 40. He has said that he will get his main event and the story was there too with Seth Rollins. It was all going perfectly till a week back. First the news came that Seth Rollins has injured his knee but the good news was that he will be alright for WrestleMania 40. Then the bombshell report dropped with shocking allegations against Vince McMahon and it included Brock Lesnar as well. That took out the dream match for Gunther vs Brock Lesnar.
The good news about Seth Rollins was a positive one and the Brock Lesnar news was something that WWE had to change their plans for. However what happened at the Royal Rumble with CM Punk suffering a torn triceps injury was the worst news for Triple H and the fans. It happened in a spot where Drew McIntyre gave a DDT to Punk and he was instantly injured and he told the referee that he was hurt. The WWE were hoping that CM Punk could make WrestleMania but he would need at least 4-6 months of recovery and rehab. This takes him out of WrestleMania 40 and it will directly affect Seth Rollins because he will not get his much desired and deserved WrestleMania main event.
CM Punk told the WWE fans on Raw that he was out of WrestleMania and that he was sad about this happening. He also said that there will always be a next year. The fans were emotional as was Punk but Drew McIntyre came out and he told that he prayed that CM Punk got injured and he did. Drew was the happiest man in the world and he took out CM Punk for good measure. This has thrown a monkey wrench in the plans for WrestleMania as Triple H has to find a credible opponent for Seth Rollins in the absence of CM Punk. Seth Rollins will lose the main event spot of WrestleMania but it will go to his wife Becky Lynch so it will be still in the family. The hope is CM Punk is back in time for SummerSlam and he can have a big match at that show.
