SummerSlam 2023 Results

The 2023 Edition of SummerSlam is in the books and it was a very good show from top to bottom and although there were no big returns , the match quality throughout the show was stellar. There were 8 Matches and only 1 match was not good. All the Matches got time and there were some truly shocking moments throughout the PPV. And WWE are in a better position than they were before this show.

Let’s look at the Results of SummerSlam 2023:

Logan Paul beat Ricochet

This was the first match of the show and it was a banger. It was the biggest opportunity in the career of Ricochet and he delivered. Logan Paul once again showed why he is such a natural in WWE and he will be here for years to come. This was a much different match than any fan anticipated and in the best way possible. It was not a spot fest for 18 minutes but they told a very good story in the match and the idea of Samantha Irvin getting involved in the story being the fiance of Ricochet was the cherry on top. They had some great spots but it was about proper professional wrestling. Logan Paul won this match.

Cody Rhodes beat Brock Lesnar

It can easily be said that this was the best Cody Rhodes match since WrestleMania 39 and this was the best Brock Lesnar match since SummerSlam last year. Brock Lesnar is Mr SummerSlam and they had a great match for 18 minutes and if the fans understood why the match went the way it did then they will appreciate the match more. At the start, Brock Lesnar was beating the hell out of Cody Rhodes trying to get him to count out and he hit him with multiple F5s but Cody Rhodes kept coming back and he rallied and came back and in the end he won the match and the feud. After the match Brock Lesnar hugged Cody Rhodes and raised his hand and this was an unplanned moment.

LA Knight won the Slim Jim Battle Royal

Next was the Slim Jim Battle Royal and it was thought that this would be boring but it was incredibly entertaining from start to finish and fir 12 minutes it was time for the YEAH Movement as LA Knight and 24 other WWE superstars gave it their all and there were some great performances in this match from Chad Gable, Grayson Waller, Sheamus, Omos, AJ Styles but the fans wanted to see only 1 man win the thing and LA Knight won the Battle Royal. The reaction from the fans was such like he had won the Royal Rumble.

Shayna Baszler beat Ronda Rousey

This was the only match on the card that did not deliver and they tried something different but it just did not work tonight. Shayna Baszler needed this win and this was the last match in the WWE career of Ronda Rousey and they had an 8 minutes match where they tried to get the crowd into the match but they were taken out by the excitement for LA Knight. Shayna Baszler won the match as she should have.

Gunther beat Drew McIntyre

This was the match for the Intercontinental Championship and while it was a very good match, it could have gone on for 5 minutes more as the crowd was just starting to get into the match. It was Gunther who faced Drew McIntyre and the hopes from this match were high and they delivered. It was as hard hitting as promised and for 14 minutes these 2 men beat each other with everything and Drew McIntyre had a great flurry but he was not able to beat the ring general and Gunther showed why he is so close to becoming the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time.

Seth Rollins beat Finn Balor

This was the match 7 years in the making and it can be easily said that this was their best match to date and even better than their SummerSlam Match. Finn Balor came out with Seven written on the exact part where he got injured 7 years ago and Seth Rollins wore the exact same gear that he wore 7 years ago. It was a good match at the start as both men were trying to beat the other and there were some near falls but when Damian Priest came out that’s when the real fun started the pace picked up and Finn Balor looked like he won the World Heavyweight Championship but Seth Rollins kicked out and similarly Seth Rollins tried to win but 1 error by The Judgement Day and Seth Rollins stomped Finn Balor and after 19 minutes Seth Rollins won.

Bianca Belair beat Charlotte Flair and Asuka

This was the co main event of the evening and it was divided into 2 parts and this was the match that was held for the WWE Women’s Championship and these were 3 of the best to ever do it and they started hot and did not lose the momentum of the match and they tried to beat the other but something would happen and this would get better and better as time went on and when Charlotte Flair threw Bianca Belair through the steps everyone thought that Bianca was out but she sold it like a boss and came back. After 21 minutes of one of the best matches of the year , Bianca Belair would win the match.

Iyo Sky beat Bianca Belair

After the match was over it was Iyo Sky who would come running with her Money in the Bank contract and she would cash it in and Iyo Sky would become the WWE Women’s Champion shd deservedly so because she was worked hard to win this title for the past year and from SummerSlam 2022 to now, the journey has come full circle for Iyo Sky and Damage Ctrl.
