WWE Titles That Could Change Hands at WrestleMania 42

WWE generally does very few title changes throughout the year. They reserve most of them for WrestleMania or SummerSlam. WrestleMania 42 will see many title matches that will take place and the current champions are in danger of losing their titles to their opponents. The fans are cheering for the heels and booing the babyfaces. WrestleMania 42 will take place on 18th and 19th April 2026.

Let’s look at 5 Titles that could change hands at WrestleMania 42

WWE Championship

The WWE Champion is Cody Rhodes and he won his 3rd WWE Championship against Drew Mcintyre on SmackDown. Cody Rhodes has been getting booed and his opponent is the great Randy Orton. He has cemented himself as a legend and even though he turned heel the fans will cheer for Randy Orton. The 15th World Championship for Randy Orton could take place at WrestleMania 42. Cody Rhodes fans are nervous and WWE is in a bit of a tight spot. They do not want to have Cody Rhodes have such a short reign but they might have no choice.

World Heavyweight Championship

The World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is also one of those Champions that is in danger of losing the title. He has been champion for 5 months meaning he has had a significant and a great title reign as the fighting champion. His opponent is Roman Reigns and the fans are not booing Roman Reigns as much as CM Punk wants them to. This week on Raw finally Roman Reigns snapped and he Powerbombed CM Punk through the table. The Bloodline has been slowly forming and LA Knight has a problem with that. Jey Uso has switched back into Right Hand Man Mode. The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns could be the next World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE Women’s Championship

Jade Cargill has been the WWE Women’s Champion for a few months but she has had nothing to do with it. There was a brief feud with Jordynne Grace that went nowhere. However since Rhea Ripley won the Elimination Chamber Match, Jade Cargill has finally had a feud but she has not been up to the mark. Rhea Ripley is the most popular WWE superstar currently and Triple H might be thinking of making her the WWE Women’s Champion and drafting her to SmackDown. This would be a huge boost to the SmackDown Women’s division. Jade has improved in the Ring but her promo skills need a lot of work.

Women’s World Championship

The story for this title is completely different as Stephanie Vaquer has been a fantastic champion. She is one of the best wrestlers in WWE and she has been a fighting champion. However Liv Morgan is doing the best work of her career and she has been heavily featured on Raw every week. These two women had a very good brawl on Raw and the fans are excited to see this match. Liv Morgan will have The Judgement Day by her Side and that could help her. Stephanie Vaquer will not go down without a fight. It will be a difficult decision for Triple H.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship

This match has been made official as Becky Lynch will face AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. AJ Lee won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber. She had a very good match against Bayley but the reality is that she will not be a regular fixture for WWE after WrestleMania 42. She has signed a part time deal so Becky Lynch will most probably win the Intercontinental Championship. She is definitely doing the best work of her career. There needs to be a stipulation which needs to be added to this match. The women will have multiple title matches this year and that is fantastic.
