Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins for World Heavyweight Championship
This is the biggest match that is happening at WWE SummerSlam 2026. This is a match that is 14 years in the making. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins is the biggest match that WWE can do, and these two men know that this will be their last one-on-one match against each other. Both men are babyfaces, and the fans love both of them.
This will be a barn burner of a match, and there will be counters and reversals of each move. The storytelling has been there for the last 14 years. The World Heavyweight Championship has become the number 1 title in the WWE. Roman Reigns has never beaten Seth Rollins one on one for the World Title in his career.
CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes for WWE Championship
Both the world title matches at SummerSlam are two of the biggest matches of the year. The WWE Championship has been lagging behind in importance, but ever since CM Punk has won the title back, it has become the standard. Cody Rhodes is the former WWE Champion. This match is far more than that.
These are two men that left WWE angry and vengeful. One founded AEW and the other left wrestling. Cody Rhodes came back in 2022, and 18 months later CM Punk was back in WWE. This will be an emotional match, and they will leave it all out there. It will be professional wrestling magic.
Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi in Hell in a Cell
The third match of the show that is as big as the two world title matches is the Hell in a Cell match that will take place between two of the biggest monsters in WWE history. Brock Lesnar loves this structure, as he has never lost in the Cell. He has beaten the Undertaker twice in this match.
Brock Lesnar will be performing in his hometown, and he will get a raucous reception, and they will cheer him. Oba Femi will have his first Hell in a Cell match, and he will also be cheered loudly. This match might steal the show. They should get 20 minutes to have a classic.
Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky for Women’s World Championship
There are only 3 women’s matches at SummerSlam, and two are title matches. This is poor, as the mid-card titles could have been defended at this show. Liv Morgan has been the Women’s World Champion, but she lost to Iyo Sky in the final of the Queen of the Ring Tournament.
Liv has worked very hard to get to this level, and this will be one of her biggest matches of her WWE career. Iyo Sky will once again look to rise to the top of the women’s division after being on the midcard. This will be an incredible match, and they should get 25 minutes.
Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill vs Chelsea Green vs Charlotte Flair vs Lash Legend for WWE Women’s Championship in a Ladder Match
This is the second women’s world title match that will take place at SummerSlam. Rhea Ripley has been injured, and she has been forced to vacate the title. There will be a 5-woman ladder match that will determine the next champion. This match will be physical, and ladders will be used to hit each other.
The wrestlers in this match are Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, and Charlotte Flair, who are all established stars and can assert their dominance in this match. Chelsea Green and Lash Legend will be the ones that will be the underdogs.
Penta vs Chad Gable for Intercontinental Championship
The Men’s Intercontinental Championship will be on the line as Penta defends the title against Chad Gable. Chad Gable has been one of the best babyfaces ever since he returned from AAA. He wants to be the Intercontinental Champion, and he will have to beat Penta, who has been unstoppable as champion. Both these men are babyfaces and have immense respect for each other. This will be a professional wrestling clinic.
Trick Williams vs Baron Corbin for United States Championship
The United States Championship will also be on the line at SummerSlam. Trick Williams will defend the title against the returning Baron Corbin. Baron returned 2 weeks ago to WWE, and he wants to become champion as a heel. This time Baron Corbin is looking more focused, and Trick Williams will have his work cut out. Trick Williams has grown into the role of the United States Champion. The fans love him, and this will be a 12-minute match.
Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor in a Number 1 Contenders Match for WWE Championship
This is something that has rarely happened at such a big show like SummerSlam. A number 1 contenders match for the WWE Championship is something that generally happens on Raw or SmackDown, but looking at the caliber of wrestlers in this match, WWE decided to give them the big stage. This will be a huge match for both of them as they will look to get into the main event conversation. This might be the sleeper hit match of the entire two nights.
The Bella Twins and Paige vs Fatal Influence
This is the third women’s match that will take place at SummerSlam. It will be a 6-woman tag team match. Nikki Bella returned from injury, and she will have her return match at SummerSlam. She will team with her sister Brie Bella and Paige. They will take on the entire Fatal Influence, which includes Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid. This is an opportunity for Fatal Influence to show that they belong on the big stage.
Gunther vs Nick Aldis
This is one match that all of the WWE universe has a keen eye on, and it is not because of Gunther. Nick Aldis has been in WWE for almost 3 years, and he has been the SmackDown general manager for the entire duration. This is the first Singles match that Nick Aldis will have. He is without a doubt one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. Gunther is the perfect opponent for him, as Gunther will bring out the best in Nick Aldis. This has all the makings of being a special match.
Danhousen vs Dominik Mysterio
This will be the comedic relief on the show. Danhousen has become one of the most over-the-top people in WWE. He has worked very hard, and he has been seen everywhere with his Very Nice Very Evil antics. This match is important for Dominik Mysterio as well, as he has had very little to do, and getting a chance to wrestle at SummerSlam means Triple H sees big plans for him. This could be chaotic in the best way.
LA Knight, Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys vs The Bloodline
This is the 12th match on the show. This will be a 6-man tag team match. All 6 of these men are babyfaces, but they hate each other. LA Knight has found an unlikely ally in Solo Sikoa, who has turned babyface, and they will be joined by Royce Keys. They will face Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu. This match will be important to see where WWE is headed in the midcard division, as all 6 men are key wrestlers in that midcard.
