Botswana athlete Collen Kebinatshipi delivered a dominant performance in the men’s 400m Final event in the 2026 World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest (Hungary) to lift the historic title with a new national record.
The latest Diamond League title holder Kebinatshipi outclassed everyone with his powerful run in the men’s 400m Final to claim the historic first title. He completed the race in 43.39 seconds to set a new national record.
American Rai Benjamin finished in second place (44.15), while Trinidadian Jereem Richards (44.23) and another American Chris Bailey (44.27) claimed the next two spots.

Who is Collen Kebinatshipi?
Collen Kebinatshipi from Botswana won a silver medal in the men’s 400m event during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. While he won the men’s 400m gold medal at the 2025 World Athletics Championships, last week he won the Diamond League title for the first time.
