On the Commonwealth Games 2026 penultimate day, Indian boxer Sakshi Chaudhary claimed a gold medal in the women’s 51kg event. It was India’s third boxing gold medal at Glasgow 2026.
Sakshi Chaudhary won gold medal with dominant performance in Final
Sakshi faced English Ruby White in the Final, where the Indian dominated and secured a gold medal by unanimous decision. The Indian boxer secured the first-round win, as all five judges awarded her. In the second round, Sakshi managed a 4-1 win, while continuing her domination in the third round to end with another 5-0 scoreline.
Sakshi started her journey in the CWG 2026 from the Round of 16, where she defeated Lethabo Modukanele from Botswana. Later, she beat Caitlyn Fryers from Northern Ireland and Amber Wall from Canada in the Quarterfinal and Semifinal, respectively, to advance to the gold medal battle, where she continued her undoubted domination.

Sakshi Chaudhary shined from youth ages
Hailing from a farming family in Bhiwani district in Haryana, Sakshi Chaudhary is a havildar in the Indian Army. She took up boxing before she was 10 years old. After winning two gold medals in the Youth World Boxing Championships and one gold medal in the Junior World Boxing Championships, Sakshi claimed a bronze medal in the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships 2021 and gold medal in the World Boxing Cup 2025.
