The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 started with the Pakistan vs New Zealand match at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday (19th February). While Pakistan suffered a big defeat in that tournament opener, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf created an unwanted in ICC ODI tournaments history.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss in the tournament opener and sent the Blackcaps to bat first. New Zealand opener Will Young (107 off 113 balls) and the middle-order batter Tom Latham (118 not out off 104 balls) scored valuable centuries, while Glenn Phillips scored a powerful 61 off 39 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes.
