BAR vs RM Match Preview

Barcelona are chasing four trophies this season, seemingly finding their glory days back under Hansi Flick, who already managed the club to Super Cup success in January this year, thrashing rivals Real Madrid 5-2 in the final. They also hammered the Los Blancos 4-0 in the league encounter last year, which was a statement victory to show their pursuit for the summit again, staying four points clear at the top and facing them again in the Copa del Rey final. The Catalan giants are looking for their 32nd title and a first final win over their rivals in this competition since 1990 to strengthen their position further. The record winners are pursuing their first cup triumph since 2020-21, also the last time they have been in the final, making it a must-win affair for them on all fronts. Having also reached the semi-final stage in the Champions League, facing Serie A giants Inter Milan early next month, the last thing the team will want is to have an uncanny loss against their rivals, which could hit the high confidence they have had in their football and their dream of winning all available trophies this season. Apart from a 3-1 loss to Dortmund in the Champions League quarterfinal second leg, but progressing 5-3 on aggregate, Flick’s side has not tasted defeat in 2025, showing every reason to grab the trophy this weekend.

The successive 1-0 wins over Getafe and Athletic Club gave a different characteristic of Real Madrid than what their defence has experienced this season. It was their third clean sheet in the league after not keeping a single clean sheet in any competition since their 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal. This was a small positivity after losing the holders tag in the Champions League, having suffered elimination from the quarterfinal stage and falling behind in their La Liga title defence, which they want as a motivation in the Copa del Rey final. Probably the only trophy to put in the bag, Los Blancos will be desperate to make their presence felt to gift their manager, Carlo Ancelotti, at least one trophy this season, with speculations surrounding his exit increasing. Despite struggling massively against their rivals this season, Real Madrid will look at their El Clásico victories in all Copa del Rey final meetings this century, the previous one coming in 2014 and winning four of the seven battles against their rivals at this stage, to build confidence. The club from the Spanish capital has won this contest 20 times, winning their last two finals, with the previous victory coming in 2022-23. Winning the competition has become a priority for the side now, which was not the prime motive at the start of the campaign.

BAR vs RM Team News

Barcelona are without Robert Lewandowski for the final after he picked up a hamstring injury in the thrilling win against Celta Vigo last weekend and missed the Mallorca game on Wednesday. The Polish international is expected to be back for the El Clasico game in the league outing next month. Ferran Torres will lead the line in his place. Marc-Andre ter Stegen is back in the squad after a long absence due to his ACL injury, but Wojciech Szczesny will remain between the sticks. Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado and Marc Bernal are all injured.

Meanwhile, rivals Real Madrid add Eduardo Camavinga to the injury list after the midfielder suffered an adductor issue in the midweek win over Getafe. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao remain out for the season, but Ferland Mendy and Kylian Mbappe are available for selection, with the latter expected to start the final.

BAR vs RM Predicted Lineups

BAR vs RM Dream11 Match Prediction

Real Madrid has maintained solidity, which was missing, in their wins post-Champions League elimination and have the weapons to hurt Barcelona’s highline with their space-loving forwards. However, their rivals have been on a different parameter this campaign and have got their job done even in a vulnerable state. They defeated Los Blancos in the last two matches, but this time it will be a close contest. We predict a 2-1 win for Flick’s side as they look to complete another step in their run for a historic quadruple.
