Punjab FC put up a good resistance against FC Goa but had to surrender a 1-0 defeat when Carlos Martinez struck in the 17th minute of the game. After two difficult away trips, they will face another tough challenge in the form of Highlanders at home hoping to end the sequence of defeats.  

NorthEast United will make the trip to Delhi for the first time since 2018 on the back of a huge 3-0 success against Chennaiyin FC at Guwahati. It was the perfect response the Highlanders could have given after a 2-1 loss to Mumbai City FC. Parthib Gogoi scored for back-to-back games and with a screamer again to open the scoring a few minutes before the break. Lost his father on the day of facing the Islanders, Phalguni Singh found the net in this game after Nestor Albiach was played through the Chennaiyin defence. To cap it all, centre-back Asheer Akhtar unleashed a pile-driver which crashed into the opposition net in the last minute to confirm a perfect win for NorthEast. Juan Pedro Benali’s men are willing to keep the momentum going in a season they want to see them as high as possible contrary to their bottom-placed ranking last time.
