Malaysia are ready for their fourth consecutive World Cup appearance (2014-2026), their joint record (1973-1982). While they finished above 10th place in the last three World Cup competitions, their best record in the competition's history was finishing in fourth place in the 1975 edition, where they hosted the tournament and played their only World Cup Semi-final.
Malaysia qualified for the Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 after managing the highest-ranked fourth-place finish (Ismailia and Santiago) of the 2026 Men's FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers.
