Last year was a glorious one for Hyderabad FC as they lifted the ISL title for the first time and reached their record point-tally in the following season. However, the core of the team along with their manager have gone to pastures new for the new ISL campaign. As a result, the Nizams will find it hard to maintain the same levels as before although their new arrivals could make them a stable side.
Their opening game of the ISL 2023/24 season will be special as they will welcome coach Manolo Marquez again but this time in the opposition dugout of FC Goa in Gachibowli on 22nd September. Hyderabad FC will then make their trip to Kolkata for their first away game of the season against Emami East Bengal FC. The next big clash for the Nizams will be against Shield Winners Mumbai City FC whom they had a close battle for the prize for a while last season.
The last month of the calendar year will throw in some interesting fixtures in the mix. Most notably, the match-up against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on December 4th. The Mariners beat them in the ISL semi-final on penalties last season and also in the AFC Cup qualifying playoff battle in the same fashion. Hyderabad FC will also battle another AFC Cup candidate Odisha FC and Jamshedpur FC in the reverse fixture before the league break for the AFC Asian Cup in January 2024.
