One of the most important forms of this game that has a great influence among the people is the “Slum Soccer”. And the man behind this tremendous achievement is Vijay Barse.
Vijay Barse is a name that can never be forgotten from the history of Indian sports history. He is the founder of the most accepted slum soccer. Born in the year 1945 at Nagpur, this guy wrote his name in the book of Indian sports history through the founding of Slum Soccer which made football very popular as well as reduced the crime rates in the slum areas.
Early Life
Vijay Barse was a sports teacher at Hislop college, Nagpur and it was in the year he saw some underprivileged children playing football using a makeshift football. It was then he understood the influence of football among the people of the country. This scene gave him the inspiration to start Slum Soccer.
In the year 2001 along with his wife Ranjana Barse and son Abhijeet Barse, he started Krida Vikas Santhi Nagpur which became the parent institution for Slum Soccer.
The inspirational life of this great human being is adapted in a movie named Jhund, starring Amitabh Bachan and is scheduled to release in 2020. Vijay Barse is a name that we can never forget from the books of Indian sports history.
In 2014, Aamir Khan hosted Vijay Barse in his show “Satyamev Jayate Season 3”.
