After the great test series win by team India against Australia in their own territory by 2-1, it was expected team India will now dominate every who comes before the ICC Test Championship Final but it look very surprising when team India with their regular players performed very ordinary against the England side who have been filled in-experience in the first test match at Chennai. Before the series started, most of them criticise that England team has won the test series by 2-0 against the most weak side of Sri Lanka team where Joe Root was involved in two 150 plus scores.

But the start of test series at Chennai has revealed the plans of visitors (England) with what mindset they have come up in the crucial test series before the another edition of Ashes Series later this year. Although there are still 9 sessions to go in the test match (2 more days of play). But now there are two possible results left in the test match for both the teams. Draw or Win? For England team both options are valid or even if team India are looking for the draw after when they will come to bat in the second innings if follow on will be enforced by England (the chances are high that team India will come to bat again tomorrow as to avoid follow on they have score at least 121 runs more tomorrow). But victory for team India looks a little absurd after the England team has scored 578 runs in the first innings .

The visitors cannot lose this test match from this situation at all. Even if we go by any analysis it is next to impossible to think that England will lose this test match. Apart from this outcome the other two possibilities are very much clear but within a day only one possibility will be left as team India second innings score will clear the uncertainties of every situation. While the England captain earlier Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat first against the complete team India which at once looked little wrong by the visiting captain before the start of the match.

But as soon as England openers arrived, the intentions got cleared from both the England openers who have started in pretty good way with 63 run-partnership for the first wicket before Rory Burns was out by Ashwin. Soo after without the addition of runs on the scoreboard Daniel Lawrence was out by Jasprit Bumrah at the scoreboard of 63/2 and team India looked to derailed the opposition. At this stage, it looked like team India would bowled them out before 300 run-mark. But what next was the captain leading from the front, alongside the players who are not having much experience of playing in the subcontinent pitches.

Joe Root first put on 200 run-partnership with Dominic Sibley for the third wicket to rescue his side from the early breakthroughs. Then with the start of day two play, Joe Root alongside Ben stokes put the aggressive partnership in the quick time of 124 runs for the fourth wicket. Ben Stokes played the attacking knock of 82 runs off 116 balls which included 10 fours and 3 maximums. Then Joe Root was involved in the third crucial partnership of 86 runs for the fifth wicket with Ollie Pope. From 63/2 to 473/5, England was into the driver seat after the brilliant double hundred from captain Joe Root in his 100th test match to become the first batsman to achieve this milestone.

Towards the end of the day's two play, Joe Root was out at 218 runs, before the lower order put up a fight to end the day's play without losing their all wickets at 555 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Dominic Bess and Jack Leach remained unbeaten and have added on 30 run-partnership for the ninth wicket. Who both have started the day's three play but addition of 23 runs on the scoreboard, England have lost their all wickets at the score of 578 runs in the first innings. The hosts (India) had begun their first innings to repeat the flow of runs scored by visitors (England) but Jofra Archer removed both the Indian openers at the score of 44/2 and pushed them at the backfoot with early wickets. Before team India would have recovered they had lost another two crucial wickets at the score of 73/4 including captain Virat kohli. But thanks to Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant who both added on 119 run-partnership for the fifth wicket in the 23 overs to rescue the side from the collapse. The partnership was broken by Dominic Bess who picked up the wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara (73) at the score of 193/5. Soon after, Rishabh Pant got out at the score of 225/6 before his another century at the score of 91 runs off 88 balls which featured 9 fours and 5 sixes. R. Ashwin and Washington Sundar remained unbeaten and ended up day's three play at the score of 257 runs for the loss 6 wickets with still team India trailing by 321 runs and to avoid follow on team India has scored 121 runs more from here. From England Dominic Bess (4) and Jofra Archer (2) have picked up wickets except others who are wicket less.
