WrestleMania 42 is 2 months away and WWE is doing something that they have not done for decades. They will be holding back to back WrestleMania events in the same stadium in Las Vegas. It will be held on 18th and 19th April 2026. Ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 were opened a few months ago and the ticket sales have been low as compared to the last 3-4 years. More than 37,000 tickets have been sold for each night but the total capacity of the stadium is 70,000.
Let’s the best in Reasons why the Ticket Sales for WrestleMania 42 have been slow
The prices for the tickets are too high. Vince McMahon had a lot of evils associated with him but one of the most positive things he ever did was he made sure that the ticket pricing for the PPVs was affordable for the whole family to attend. Currently TKO runs it as a cut throat business and hence the fans come last. The prices for this event range from $800 dollars to more than $10,000 dollars. Even the biggest of wrestling fans will think twice before spending so much money. A famous fan who goes by Brock Lesnar Guy has stopped going to WWE events because the tickets are so expensive. Triple H and Nick Khan need to do something about this.
The creative direction in WWE has taken a nosedive for the worse. WrestleMania 41 was overall not good and a couple of excellent matches saved the show. The fans thought it was an aberration as Triple H had a great track record before that. However the creative in the entirety of 2025 was sub par. John Cena’s retirement tour did not go as planned and the wrestlers were so good with him that it was a great last 4 months. When the WrestleMania 42 tickets started selling the fans had worries that they will not get the quality of product as compared to the price they will pay. 2026 started strong with Drew Mcintyre winning the WWE Championship but it has again taken a beating. Triple H has become too predictable. The Men’s Royal Rumble Match this year was okay.
There are not too many A list stars that were there in previous years. The Rock was an important part of WrestleMania 40 which was the best ever. John Cena was a part of WrestleMania 41 and 40. He was competing for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Fans loved John Cena and were willing to pay the extra dollar to see the greatest of all time for the last time at WrestleMania. AJ Styles has also retired and he will also not feature at WrestleMania 42. On the women’s side Bianca Belair is out with injury and will miss WrestleMania 42. Seth Rollins is out with injury as well and will miss WrestleMania 42. The latest WWE superstar out with an injury is Bron Breakker and he was supposed to be a big part of WrestleMania 42. Fans will not get to see so many top WWE superstars and therefore paying the extra dollar is not worth it.
