Premier League and club football is all set to return after the international break as the teams set out this weekend to fight in their respective leagues. The Premier League will resume with its Gameweek on Saturday with the Leicester City vs Chelsea fixture. Along with PL comes FPL, and the FPL managers are also looking to set their team up after a week-long break.

Here we are with our Top 5 FPL picks for Gameweek 12:

1. Michail Antonio (£8.2m), Wolves vs West Ham

Michail Antonio has become one of the popular picks in FPL owing to his performances. The Jamaican started the season on a high accumulating 40 points in his first 3 fixtures. Due to this, Antonio has also seen a price rise by a huge 0.7m in 11 gameweeks which has proved to be a great asset for those who owned him since the start.

The fixture against Wolves is yet another opportunity for Antonio to score goals. After blanking in his last 2 games, Antonio will be eager to get his form back and carry West Ham in the impressive start they have had. Some of the next fixtures for West Ham are tricky but Antonio has proved to be a set and forget pick so far and hence he should not be transferred out if you own him.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.4m), Watford vs Manchester United

Our next pick is a popular name in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo. The forward individually and Manchester United as a team have not been in the best of form in recent weeks so this might be an unpopular pick. However, after a much-needed international break, United will look to bounce back on Saturday against Watford.

Cristiano Ronaldo will relish the chance to play against a relegation threatened side and have some goals under him to get his form back. The forward is the 2nd most selected player in the category and hence a haul for him will lead to a red arrow if you do not own him.

3. Adam Armstrong (£5.9m), Norwich vs Southampton

Adam Armstrong was one of the popular picks after the last international break owing to Southampton’s fixture run in. However, the forward was benched against Leeds and Burnley much to the disappointment of his 3.4% owners. The injury to Armando Broja gave Armstrong a chance in the starting line-up and he capitalized.

The forward has scored and assisted in his last 2 games, giving a return of 14 points in total. Armstrong is favourite to start when Southampton travel to face Norwich this weekend. He would be looking to add to his goal tally against a side which has struggled this season and who would be playing the match under their new manager for the first time.

4. Harry Kane (£12.2m), Spurs vs Leeds United

Harry Kane, generally a popular pick in FPL has been reduced to just 8.3% ownership this season and rightly so due to his form. Apart from a 12-point haul against Newcastle where he scored and assisted, Kane has blanked in all the fixtures he has played. Such diminishing returns from a premium priced player meant FPL managers have stayed away from the forward.

However, this might be right time to bring in Harry Kane if one is looking to forward to. The forward found his goalscoring boots during the international break having scored in both of England’s fixtures. Add to the fact that with Conte in charge at Spurs, there will be a massive improvement in Spurs’ performance which will lead to increased returns for Kane. Spurs now go on a dream fixture run as they face Leeds, Burnley, Brentford and Norwich in their next 4 fixtures.

5. Callum Wilson (£7.4m), Newcastle vs Brentford

Callum Wilson has always been one of those strikers in the Premier League who will score a lot when in form but disappoint you equally. This season as well, Wilson has not been in the best of form having scored 4 goals in 11 matches so far. Wilson though still remains Newcastle’s best attacking threat.

With Eddie Howe coming in to replace Steve Bruce there is a new sense of positivity at Newcastle. Wilson of all players will be delighted to link up with Eddie as they did at Bournemouth when Wilson became the player he is now. Newcastle has a favourable run of fixtures too and Wilson could be a great punt for a few weeks.
