MJF with Adam Cole after beating Jay White for AEW World Championship

AEW Full Gear is in the books as it was held in Inglewood California and it was one of the best shows of the year for AEW. They had Banger matches all throughout the PPV and they unveiled a big signing which has the Wrestling world excited. There were a number of matches at this show as has been the case with all AEW PPVs. They should try to reduce the number of matches to 8 and have the show be a maximum of 4 hours. There were a number of Championship Matches that took place at AEW Full Gear.

Let’s look at the Results of AEW Full Gear 2023

MJF and Samoa Joe beat The Gunns for ROH World Tag Team Championship

This was the first match of the main show and it started as a 2 on 1 match with MJF as the one but before the match started Samoa Joe surprised everyone as he was the tag team partner for him in this title defense. This was a 10 minutes match and it was a quick match with a lot of moves and The Gunns had the biggest opportunity of their lives and they took full advantage of it. MJF and Samoa Joe had issues at the start but they worked well to win the match.

Sting, Darby Allen and Adam Copeland beat Luchasaurus, Christian Cage and Nick Wayne

This was one of the best matches on the show. This was a match where the generations collided and it was a synergy that resulted in a classic. This was the dream team of Sting, Adam Copeland and the young Darby Allen against the best heel group in AEW. The fans were excited for this match and they had a 15 minutes match where all 6 men got to show their skills and the 11000 fans in the arena had a great time. The face team won the match and this was a big win for Adam Copeland for his career in AEW.

Orange Cassidy beat Jon Moxley for AEW International Championship

This was the match which a lot of the fans were excited for and it was a good match but not ime of the best in the PPV. Jon Moxley was having a PPV match after a while and Orange Cassidy was having a good streak of matches. This was a 12 minutes match when the fans expected it to go over 20 and let these 2 men show all the moves they had. Orange Cassidy was becoming a very good AEW International Champion and he beat Jon Moxley In this match and his reign continues and he will look to have better Matches in the future.

Toni Storm beat Hikaru Shida for AEW Women’s Championship

This was the first out of 2 Women’s matches at the show and this was the right decision taken by Tony Khan. This match was given 11 minutes and this is the right amount of time to tell a good story. This was as one of the best women’s matches in AEW. Hikaru Shida lost the AEW Women’s Championship and it was time for Toni Storm to be rewarded for her outstanding work

Ricky Starks and Big Bill beat Rush and Dralistico , FTR and Kings of Black for AEW World Tag Team Championship

This was a Fatal Four Way Match for the AEW Tag Team Championship. Till this point In the show this was the longest match which exceeded over 20 minutes. These were the 4 best teams in the company and Tony Khan gave them all the license to go out there and have the best match and that’s exactly what they did. FTR showed why they are the best tag team in AEW and the other 3 teams were also great but in the end after an enthralling 20 minutes it was Ricky Starks and Big Bill who won the AEW Tag Team Championship.

Julia Hart beat Kris Statlander and Skye Blue for AEW TBS Championship

This was the second Women’s Championship Match at this show. This was a triple Threat match and Kris Statlander was in a disadvantage as there were 2 women coming for her Championship. Julia Hart was the favorite and Skye Blue was the young star who made a statement in this 11:30 minutes match. The women got a total of 24 minutes on this show and 5 women got to wrestle. Julia Hart won the AEW TBS Championship and it was the correct decision and this meant both the women’s titles changed hands on this PPV.

Swerve Strickland beat Hangman Adam Page in a Texas Death Match

This was without a doubt the best and the bloodiest match in the entire show. No other match at this show comes close to topping this. Texas Death Match has got a new meaning because of this 5 star classic and all the future death Matches will be compared to this. This was a 30 minutes all time classic. Swerve Strickland and Adam Page wanted to hurt each other badly and a lot of blood was spilt. These 2 men used everything they could to hurt each other and some of the spots were uncomfortable. This was the best match in the career of Swerve Strickland and he won this war after 30 minutes.

The Golden Jets beat The Young Bucks

This match has an unique stipulation and that was if Golden Jets win they will get an opportunity for AEW World Tag Team Championship but it The Young Bucks win , The Golden Jets would have to disband their team. This was the co main event of the show and they had a Banger of a match. These are the 4 pillars of AEW and they showed the rest of the roster how to have a great tag team match. They Wrestled for 21 minutes and the fans were enjoying every bit of it. The dream team of Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega won this match and thus they have a future AEW Tag Team Championship opportunity.

MJF beat Jay White for AEW World Championship

This was the main event of the PPV and this was perhaps the weakest match of the show. MJF was injured and Adam Cole stepped in his place. This was a 30 minutes match but the quality difference between this and the Texas Death Match was alarming. Tony Khan overbooked this match and Jay White tried to make it work but both his opponents being injured and still beating him made absolutely no sense. This match brought the overall quality of the PPV down by a few notches. MJF retained his AEW World Championship and he and Adam Cole celebrated to end the show.
