Indian men’s skeet team secured a dramatic bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026 after coming from behind on the final day of the three-day event. Qatar won the gold medal, while Kuwait won the silver.
India finished the first day in sixth position with 136 points, and after the next two rounds, India secured the fifth position with 273 points at the end of the second day.
Bhavtegh Singh Gill, Anantjeet Singh Naruka, and Mairaj Ahmad Khan fought brilliantly on the third and final day to snatch the bronze medal with a tie-breaking score of 346, the same as Kazakhstan, and ultimately won the shoot-off to secure the third place for the medal. Qatar earned 353 points to win the gold, while Kuwait scored 348 to secure the silver medal. Despite finishing in second place at the end of the second day, Kazakhstan closely missed the medal.
Only one Indian qualified for the individual final event, as Anantjeet Singh Naruka finished in fourth place with 25 points, as he narrowly missed the individual medal. Rashid Saleh Al-Athba from Qatar set the Asian record of 34 to clinch the gold medal, while the Chinese Lyu Jianlin closely finished to claim the silver with the score of 33. Lee Meng-yuan from Chinese Taipei beat Naruka by one point to qualify for the Series 8, where his 29 points brought a bronze medal for his nation.
