Monday Night Raw took place in Houston Texas and the closing segment was between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar. These two men have built the most anticipated feud of the show across the 2 nights. There has been 4 weeks of build where both these men have been at loggerheads with each other. The fans have lapped it up and WrestleMania 42 will take place on 18th and 19th April 2026.
Let’s talk about the brawl that Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar had on Road to WrestleMania 42
The Ruler and The Beast Finally Unleashed
Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar were announced as a WrestleMania match 4 weeks ago. Oba Femi took out Brock Lesnar and accepted his open challenge for WrestleMania 42. Brock Lesnar sold it to Oba Femi and even told him to put his leg on his chest. Then the following week Oba Femi clotheslined Brock Lesnar out of the ring and it was 2 weeks in a row that Oba Femi had taken out Brock Lesnar. This took the feud to a level where Oba Femi became the biggest babyface in WWE. The third week saw Brock Lesnar coming out in his combat gear and he was ready for a fight. Oba Femi was also ready for a fight but Triple H separated these two men and as both have immense respect for Triple H therefore they backed out.
In these 3 weeks there was no brawl where both men went hard at each other. 2 out of those 3 weeks Oba Femi got the better of Brock Lesnar and in the third Triple H stopped it. And a brawl was necessary. Then the Raw In Houston Texas takes place. This time these two men were the main event segment which means they had graduated from the start of Raw to the middle of Raw and finally the closing segment. It was a rare sight to see both Triple H and Adam Pierce moderating the contract signing. Paul Heynan introduced Brock Lesnar and he was pissed and then Oba Femi came out. Both men were ready to fight and destroy each other. Brock Lesnar tried to get the better of Oba Femi but Oba Femi smashed Brock Lesnar to the ring post. Then these two slammed each other through the table. Security guards ran to the ring but it was not enough. Brock attacked Oba Femi and Oba Femi retaliated. Brock Lesnar then threw a chair at Oba Femi which was thrown back to Brock Lesnar.
The show went off the air as both men were brawling. This was a great brawl but it was short. This was way more believable than the bad brawl that Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes had on SmackDown. There is still the go home episode of Raw to go before WrestleMania 42 and both the beasts will be present. This will be an opportunity to have a full and a long brawl and this time the entire WWE locker room should be emptied like if it happened when Brock Lesnar brawled with John Cena and The Undertaker a decade ago. The other feuds have failed to catch up to the simple storytelling between these two behemoths. This match is the main event for Night 1 in the eyes of the fans.
