Wahab Riaz - 1st Pakistan Bowler To Take 400 T20 Wickets

The 37-year-old Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz became the first Pakistan bowler and first Asian pacer to complete 400 T20 wickets.

Wahab Riaz is currently busy in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2022/23, where he is serving for Khulna Tigers. The 37-year-old is still dominating with the ball as he is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing BPL season with 11 wickets in five games.

Wahab Riaz completed 400 T20 wickets in 335 matches

Last Friday (20th January), Khulna Tigers faced Chattogram Challengers at Chattogram, where Tigers successfully chased 158 runs target in 19.2 overs after losing only three wickets. Riaz had an important role for his team in that game, where he recorded his second consecutive four-wicket haul in this competition with the bowling figures of 4-0-36-4.

Playing his 335th T20 match, Riaz completed his 400 T20 wickets after collecting his third wicket of the day by dismissing the Challengers’ captain Shuvagata Hom (1) on the third ball of the final over of that innings. On the next ball, Riaz bowled Mehedi Hasan Rana (0) to get his 401st T20 wicket.

• After Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) and Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh), Riaz became the third Asian bowler to reach the 400 T20 wickets figure.

• Fastest pacer to complete 400 T20 wickets. The other pacer in this list, Dwayne Bravo, reach this milestone in 364 T20s.

• Only Rashid Khan (289 T20 matches) and Imran Tahir (320 T20 matches) completed 400 T20 wickets in lesser games than Riaz. Rashid Khan records the fastest 450 wickets
