EPL/Premier League Predictions for Gameweek 2
West Ham vs Chelsea
Both Chelsea and West Ham had disappointing starts to their Premier League Season, with the Blues being held to a draw against Crystal Palace and The Hammers suffering a shock defeat against Sunderland. Despite their underwhelming performance against Palace, we're going for a Chelsea win.
Prediction: West Ham 0-2 Chelsea
Manchester City vs Tottenham
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City destroyed Wolves in Gameweek 1, while Spurs went on to beat Burnley comfortably. City are heavy favourites for this game, but we predict Thomas Frank to tactically outsmart Pep and seal a surprise victory for Spurs.
Prediction: Manchester City 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Bournemouth vs Wolves
Bournemouth were unlucky to win against Liverpool last weekend, but still ended the game with a promising performance. Wolves are expected to struggle this season, especially with the loss of key players such as Aït-Nouri, Nelson Semedo, and Matheus Cunha. We're going with an easy Bournemouth win.
Prediction: Bournemouth 3-1 Wolves
Burnley vs Sunderland
It'll be the battle of the newly-promoted sides when Burnley face Sunderland, and the latter will be heavy favourites among casuals after their shocking victory over West Ham. However, we are expecting a tight game with a narrow victory for Sunderland.
Prediction: Burnley 1-2 Sunderland
Brentford vs Aston Villa
Brentford and Aston Villa are prime examples of 2 Premier League clubs who are surprisingly weaker than the previous season. Brentford lost key player Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, while Villa have also sold Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle. A narrow win is predicted for Unai Emery's side.
Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa
Arsenal vs Leeds United
Despite their victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal didn't have the best performance attacking wise. However, we expect them to hit on all cylinders against Leeds and Viktor Gyökeres to open his goalscoring account.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Leeds United
Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Nottingham
Our initial prediction for this game would've been a draw, but with Palace star player Eberechi Eze strongly rumoured to jump ship to Spurs, we have decided to go for a Nottingham Forest win.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Nottingham Forest
Everton vs Brighton
Everton under David Moyes ended up with a surprising loss against Leeds United in Gameweek 1,while Brighton almost won against Marco Silva's commendable Fulham side until a last-minute goal by Rodrigo Muniz. Thus, we give the edge to Brighton here.
Prediction: Everton 0 - Brighton 2
Fulham vs Manchester United
Ruben Amorim's Manchester United side will face Fulham away this weekend, and it is expected to be a closer contest than what most fans think. However, United's firepower in attack with new additions Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha is expected to seal victory for them.
Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Manchester United
Newcastle United vs Liverpool
Undoubtedly the Premier League Game of the Week, both Newcastle and Liverpool are engaged in a war beyond the football pitch. Newcastle star man Alexander Isak is heavily linked to Liverpool for a British-record transfer fee, and we expect a Liverpool win here for Isak to have no more transfer doubts remaining.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool
That's it for our Premier League predictions for this week. We will be back for EPL predictions GW 3.
