WrestleMania Main Event Journey of Roman Reigns

This is a very interesting topic and I am sure not a lot of people would have talked about this but this is a very interesting topic for an article because if we only look at the WrestleMania main event journey of Roman Reigns we will find the shift of the fans and the character of Roman Reigns and since he has already main evented 5 WrestleMania events and is about to main event his 6th WrestleMania main event this is a topic of discussion.

Roman Reigns has been wrestling in the main roster since 2012 and he has been competing at WrestleMania since WrestleMania 29 so he has had a long WrestleMania career as well and out of the many matches he has had at the biggest show , 5 of them have been main events and the Sixth will be this year against Brock Lesnar. So , let’s look at the WrestleMania main event journey of Roman Reigns.

WrestleMania 31- Vs Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins

This was the first WrestleMania main event spot for Roman and the fans absolutely hated him even though he was the face because they thought that he was being shoved down their throats and they didn’t like that at all. The may j he hsg against Brock Lesnar was one of his best and it earned him respect from some fans and in the end Seth Rollins won the title.

WrestleMania 32- vs Triple H

This was match that very few fans were actually interested in because this was the phase in the career of Roman Reigns where he was the face of the company and not of the fans and his match against Triple H was not that very good and no one wanted to see Roman win and that’s what happened so no one liked it.

WrestleMania 33- vs The Undertaker

This is the main event where it went all downhill for Roman Reigns as he faced off against The Undertaker and it was not a good match and it looked like Undertaker was in a lot of pain and Roman Reigns gained nothing from that even though he beat the Undertaker and that only earned him the ire of the fans and he should have turned heel at this point.

WrestleMania 34- vs Brock Lesnar

This WrestleMania main event was destined to make Roman Reigns the biggest star in the WWE but the opposite happened. Vince saw that the fans were totally against him winning the match and did not want him as champion so in the middle of the match at WrestleMania he changed the result of the match and had Brock Lesnar won the match and this did not help Roman.

Now before we talk about the next main event it’s important to point out that in the year 2018 itself, Roman Reigns shocked the world when he reversed that he had leukemia and everyone forgot their hatred and everyone prayed for him to be okay. Then during COVID he was supposed to main event vs Goldberg and he cited health reasons for missing the show and that proved to be the biggest blessing in disguise as when he returned at SummerSlam 2020, he was a new man with a new character and his career went up from this point.

WrestleMania 37 – vs Edge and Daniel Bryan

This was probably the first main event of WrestleMania in his career that all the fans agreed that it was his spot and that he was the biggest star in WWE and he dominated the match and pinned two legends in the middle of the rings and no one said a word because they knew he was the man around.

WrestleMania 38- vs Brock Lesnar

This is the biggest WrestleMania main event in the career of Roman Reigns as it is title vs title winner take all against Brock Lesnar but even though this will be their third WrestleMania main event together the roles are so different, Brock is the crowd favorite face and Roman is the heel.sk there is a lot of interest in the match this year.
