How much does WWE earn per year?

WWE is a multi billion dollar company which has just recently been sold to Endeavor for $9.3 billion and the people in power in WWE were delighted with this deal. WWE has a market cap of $6.5 Billion so they got almost $3 billion more because Endeavor saw the potential in them becoming one of the biggest companies in the world and therefore they put in all this money.

However WWE has on its own made billions of dollars each year for the last 3 years and it has become an envy for most sports companies as to how WWE is able to sustain this level of income and the details will be shared below and the sources of revenue have already been shared in another article. So, let’s look at the details.

WWE Revenue in 2022

WWE has a revenue of $1.292 Billion for the year 2022 which is the highest in their rich history and In 2022 they shocked the world with such a big Income and the details of this Income are mainly from the media rights deals, WrestleMania 39 which had $21.6 million in ticket sales and $20 million in sponsorships. Then there were 2 Saudi Arabia shows and WWE got $100 million from them. And the income in 2022 saw a 17.93% increase from the year 2021 when the Income was $1.095 Billion. WWE now being in the Endeavor umbrella and merged with UFC will get more opportunities to raise the revenue and they will most likely increase their revenue to close to $1.5 Billion in 2023.

Reasons for growth every year

The reasons for the sustained growth every year are as follows –

1) WWE are doing more stadium shows which means more revenue from tickets and more people watching the product means more business for WWE.

2) The media rights are getting bigger every 5 years and the next cycle of media rights will be the biggest ever and that will massively help drive revenue every year.

3) The merchandise sales are increasing every year as the fans are connecting with more WWE superstars and that would mean that WWE will get more money from those sales.
