It will be safe to say that the 37th edition of Survivor Series WarGames was the most successful Survivor Series of all time. This has become a tradition for WWE to break records in every city they go in and this was in Chicago at the Allstate Arena. The anticipation for the PPV was immense and the fans were packed to the rafters for this show. WWE has issued a press release detailing all the various records they have broken at Survivor Series this year. The show was 3 hours which is the perfect time for the fans to have energy to give every match.
Let’s look at the Records that were broken at WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2023
The viewership for Survivor Series WarGames this year was up 44% from the previous record which was the 2022 edition of Survivor Series. This record is a very big increase of almost 50%. This record has been achieved due to the WarGames matches and the returns of Randy Orton and the shocking return of CM Punk to WWE.
A total of 17,138 fans attended the show at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. This is the second highest attendance figure in history at that arena and it is the highest attended Survivor Series in history. It broke the record of the 2021 Survivor Series which held the previous record and was held in Brooklyn, New York.
The all time merchandise record was also broken at this year’s Survivor Series. The WWE fans wanted to buy merchandise of their favorite WWE superstars and the fans in Chicago were some of the loudest. WWE will have earned millions of dollars through merchandise sales only from this event. WWE should think about doing Survivor Series in a stadium like the other 3 big shows.
The sponsorship revenue which was generated from the Event was also up by 24% compared to the last year in 2022. WWE had Slim Jim and other sponsors who gave them revenue from this event. WWE is a hot commodity and everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon. In 2024, the sponsorship revenue will be even greater under the leadership of Nick Khan.
The Shocking and Awe inspiring return of CM Punk to WWE was the most social moment in WWE history. Triple H and Nick Khan did so well to keep all of this a secret. Nobody had any idea and when it happened everyone wanted to see it on social media. It has also become the most liked Twitter post in WWE history at over 251K likes and over 31 million views only on Twitter. In total it has generated over 71 Million views from only the WWE social media platforms.
