Let's not waste much time then, scroll down below to find out the top 5 deals that were sealed before the Football transfer window deadline.
Deadline Day: Top 5 transfers that were made official
Yoane Wissa to Newcastle United
It has been nothing short of a heartbreaking transfer window for Brentford fans. After losing Thomas Frank to Tottenham Hotspur, Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United and Christian Nørgaard to Arsenal, they have now lost Yoane Wissa to Newcastle United. After a long period of speculation and Wissa becoming increasingly frustrated with the club, the player ended up making a public transfer, where he also accused Brentford of breaking certain promises. Finally, Brentford agreed to sell the player to Newcastle for a package worth £55m.
Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich
This transfer story can only be described as Bizzare. Nicolas Jackson was initially meant to only join Bayern Munich on a record loan deal with an optional purchase option. However, due to the unfortunate injury suffered by Liam Delap when Chelsea faced Fulham, The Blues decided to cancel the deal and ordered Jackson to come back. Jackson though refused to return to Chelsea, and Bayern ultimately got their man in the end. The German giants will pay a total fee just under £70.5m, which includes loan fee of £14.2m with obligation to buy for a further £56.2m.
Gianluigi Donnarumma to Man City
Manchester City needed a new goalkeeper with Ederson leaving for Fenerbahçe, and they have indeed got the very best one out there. Although Pep Guardiola's side signed James Trafford from Burnley, they felt the need for a bigger and better signing. This led to the Citizens signing Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG for a transfer fee worth over €30m with add-ons package. The player has signed a long-term deal as well, and would be hoping to replicate the heroics of his Brazilian predecessor and lift many titles with City.
Senne lammens to Man United
With both André Onana and Altay Bayındır proving themselves to be incapable as Manchester United's undisputed number 1 goalkeeper, it was absolutely essential for Ruben Amorim to have another goalkeeper signed. This has led to Manchester United signing Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for a 21m plus add-ons deal. Lammens is just 23 years old as well, and thus even has the potential to be a long-term solution to Manchester United's current woes in the goalkeeper position.
Alexander Isak to Liverpool
Transfer Deadline day ended with what was a new British-record transfer deal that saw Liverpool pay a staggering £125m to get Alexander Isak. It was a long and tedious transfer saga that frustrated both Liverpool and Newcastle fans, which has now ended with Isak signing a six year contract with the Reds. Aleksander Isak is now poised to be the number 1 starting striker for Arne Slot's Liverpool side, and it remains to be seen how the Dutch manager accommodates Isak with the in-form Hugo Ekiteke in the same position.
That's it from us, see you for the next transfer window.
