In the ninth game of the Men’s Hockey India League 2025/26 (Men’s HIL 2025/26), Soorma Hockey Club claimed a shootout win against Hyderabad Toofans.
It was an exciting contest, where Hyderabad Toofans had better stats but failed to convert most of them, as the full-time ended with the 1-1 scoreline.
Harmanpreet Singh put Soorma Hockey Club ahead in the 20th minute after a penalty corner. Amandeep Lakra equalised the scoreline in the 46th minute from another penalty corner.
In the shootout, while the scoreline started with 1-1, Hyderabad Toofans failed to convert their next three attempts, and Soormar Hockey Club failed to score back-to-back attempts after converting their second one. Finally, Harmanpreet Singh scored for the second time in the shootout to secure a shootout win for Soorma Hockey Club.
