The second edition of the Women’s Hockey India League (Women’s HIL 2025/26) ended in a memorable way, where we experienced a tight battle between the two best teams of the tournament. In the Final of the tournament on Saturday night (January 10), SG Pipers defeated Shrachi Bengal Tigers to lift their first trophy.
In the first minute of the second quarter, Lalremsiami Hmar Zote provided the lead for Bengal Tigers through a field goal. SG Pipers managed to equalise the scoreline in the 53rd minute, when Preeti Dubey scored a field goal.
While the 60-minute match ended in a 1-1 scoreline, the tournament final went to a shootout. In the shootout, only Lalremsiami and Sukhveer Kaur managed to score for Bengal Tigers, while Navneet Kaur and Juana Castellaro scored for SG Pipers before Lola Riera secured the historic win for them.

Shrachi Bengal Tigers’ Argentine Agustina Gorzelany finished as the leading goal-scorer of the Women’s Hockey India League 2025/26 with five goals. Meanwhile, Navneet Kaur from SG Pipers and Argentine Lucina von der Heyde from Ranchi Royals were in the joint second position with four goals each in the tournament.
