Two-time World Cup winners Argentina Women secured their second consecutive World Cup Final appearance after beating Australia by 1-0 in the second Semifinal of the Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026. 


While both teams failed to open the scoreline in the first three quarters, Argentina managed the solitary match-winning goal in the 47th minute. Julieta Jankunas broke the deadlock by successfully converting a penalty corner in the early part of the last quarter. 


There were no penalty strokes earned by either team, but Argentina dominated with eight penalty corners, five more than Australia Women (three penalty corners), and it ultimately settled the match story. Out of the 11 total penalty corners in the match, seven were earned in the last quarter. 


So, the Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Final is set for the rematch of the World Cup 2022 Final, where the Netherlands beat Argentina by 3-1 to lift the trophy for the third straight time and ninth overall time.
