Savinho's Manchester City Struggles
Savinho arrived at Manchester City from sister club Girona with huge expectations after an outstanding breakthrough campaign in La Liga. However, Pep Guardiola never quite seemed to fully fancy the winger, and opportunities to consistently establish himself were limited.
Across his two seasons at City, Savinho scored just two goals, although it is important to acknowledge that many of his appearances came from the bench. There was still evidence of his creative quality, particularly during his first campaign, when he registered an impressive eight assists.
His numbers at Girona provide a much better indication of what Savinho can potentially produce when he is trusted as an important player.
