South Africa Super 8 Schedule T20 World Cup 2026

After some strong performances in the group stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, the previous T20 World Cup runners-up (2024) South Africa are ready for the Super Eight stage of the ongoing edition.

South Africa started their journey in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 from Group D, as they played all their group stage matches in India, where they had their group challenges against Canada, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates. The Proteas side won all their group stage matches to end Group D on top of the points table with eight points in four matches, including winning one Super Over encounter.

South Africa started the tournament with a 57-run win against Canada after scoring 213/4 at first innings. In their second game against Afghanistan, South Africa had a tied result, and the first Super Over was also tied, while the Proteas side finally secured the crucial two points after winning the second Super Over

South Africa then defeated New Zealand by seven wickets with 17 balls remaining after successfully chasing the 176-run target in 17.1 overs. While South Africa already confirmed their Super Eight place, as the seeded side can only feature in Group 1, they thrashed the United Arab Emirates after successfully chasing the 123-run target in 13.2 overs after losing four wickets.

South Africa will play all their Super Eight stage matches in India, as their Group 1 challenges will be against the hosts India, the West Indies, and Zimbabwe. The top two teams in the final points table will advance to the Semi-finals of the tournament.
