Two-time champions England are now ready to take up the Super Eight challenge of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where they have to prove themselves against the better teams.
England started the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 from Group C, where the other four teams of the group were West Indies, Nepal, Italy, and Scotland (replacement of Bangladesh). The English team played all their group stage matches in India.
England had a rough start in the tournament as they edged out Nepal by only four runs, where the two-time champions somehow defended 184 runs. After suffering a 30-run defeat against the West Indies, where England failed to chase 197 runs, they beat Scotland by five wickets after successfully chasing 153 runs in 18.2 overs. In their last game of the group stage, England won by 24 runs against Italy, where they defended 202 runs.
As the seeded team, England have been drafted to Group 2 for the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, where they will play all matches in Sri Lanka. The other three teams of the group are the hosts Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand. At the end of the Super Eight stage, the top two teams of the group will qualify for the Semi-finals.
