World Athletics Championships 2025 experienced a new history in the men’s 200m event, which has been dominating since its inaugural edition in 1983, as the National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan, entered the record book.

The men’s 200m event in the World Athletics Championships 2025 had three rounds. After hosting the Heats on 17th September, the Semi-finals were scheduled on 18th September, and the Final was held on 19th September.

Final
United States star Noah Lyles equalled Jamaican legend Usain Bolt’s record of four consecutive gold medals in the World Athletics Championships’ men’s 200m event. It was Noah’s fourth straight Championship gold medal in this event, as he previously won in the 2019, 2022, and 2023 editions.
The United States also recorded a silver medal, as the 2022 silver medalist Kenny Bednarek produced his season-best performance to secure the silver medal.
Jamaica finally ended its Championship podium wait in the men’s 200m event, as the country previously achieved it with Usain Bolt’s last gold medal in the 2015 edition. Bryan Levell snatched the bronze medal in this edition with his personal best performance.
